Linda holds a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management from Alabama State University. She is a Registered Health Information Administrator with the American Association of Health Information Management (AHIMA) and is a global member of AHIMA. She is a recipient of an academic scholarship award at Alabama State University and an outstanding student award from the Alabama Association of Health Information Management. She has previously worked as a project coordinator with Baobab Health Trust, a Health Informatics organization in Lilongwe and as an HIM Specialist with the Ochsner Health System in Louisiana, USA. She has conducted research in Schistosomiasis diagnosis using Polymerase Chain Reaction at Marquette University as a Summer Research scholar. Her professional experience in health informatics has led her to develop an interest in how informatics can be used to advance fields such as biodiversity, healthcare, and climate change. She would like to study the intersectionality of biodiversity and health and explore the data that is available on the subject. Her research will involve an analysis on how environmental degradation, climate change and the lack of biodiversity data has contributed to the rapid rise in non-communicable diseases. She also has a great interest in the humanities and how they can incorporated into the advancement of technology, healthcare and environmental protection.
