Masters in Biodiversity informatics programme builds upon the prior knowledge and experience of the students. Therefore, a good first degree (BSc) with practical experience in biology, forestry, fisheries, botany, wildlife, water resources, and related fields will be eligible to register into the programme. Those with an honours in the fields listed above shall also be eligible. The application process will include an academic interview.
The programme is a two-year fulltime course offered on block release. The programme is intended to be a two – parts programme starting with first year of course work and second year of thesis/dissertation. The program draws candidates with the following minimum qualifications and/or experience:
This programme will admit prospective candidates that are well equipped with BSc level knowledge and skills in the following domains: Mathematics, Statistics, environmental-related studies and information communication technology (ICT). Language of instruction will be English and therefore the candidate’s first degree must have been taught in English. Those whose academic qualification are in a different language will have to show evidence (English Language certificate) of proficiency in written and spoken English.
Those with relevant honours degree or postgraduate diploma with a strong background in biodiversity informatics may be considered for 18 months duration of the Masters programme.
In this Masters programme, as is with the other current MSc programmes at MUST, Completion of course work only successfully one will be awarded a Post Graduate Diploma. The programme is designed for a duration of 18 months, with a rigid delivery mode for the coursework.
